So many of the portraits from this session were so pretty in black and white, I just had to share a few of them here. The parents are just enamored with their new baby girl, and it was very inspiring!

(And just one color of the whole beautiful family!)

Oooooooooooh joy! Holiday portraits have officially begun at j.cota, and I’m thrilled! My fall calendar is almost completely full, believe it or not, and I’m thrilled to have so many treasured clients returning as well as a few new families!

This is my third session with them, and they are just as perfect as ever. I SO badly want to spoil the surprise on their card picture this year, but I know that they have several friends who frequent this blog. I’ll keep the family pictures hidden until the cards are mailed, but we did something extra special with this session!! Now I have you in suspense…

I love when last minute clothing choices come together perfectly. I came home and immediately downloaded the pictures, hunted for the above shot, and cheered that it was just as beautiful as I thought it would be when taking it!

Loved seeing your sweet family again this year!

Speaking of newborns… I had the pleasure of photographing twins last week! This is my third year photographing this adorable family as well. They new little ones are such little sweeties. And it was so fun to see big brother walking and talking and playing; I believe that he was the third newborn baby I photographed!

Is it fair that every member of one family have incredible eyes like this? No. Am I thanking my lucky stars that they’re my clients? Yes! Honestly, though, I don’t think that they can take bad pictures.

And after the second year of photographing their birthday parties, I don’t think they can throw a bad party, either. Lots of fun little moments and adorable kiddos running around!

I realized recently that it’s been awhile since I photographed a two-year-old right around their birthday. We had such fun in the sun at this session! He reminds me a bit of my son, so of course I just thought every little thing he did was too cute!

And what better way to celebrate two than with cupcakes?! He was thrilled about the idea!

The only thing better than photographing a tiny, new life over the course of the first year is following it up with a newborn sister! And she was just as sweet as could be!

And a series of big sister!

Many congrats to these proud parents on two beautiful girls!

There are so many things to say about this wedding. The bride is a timeless beauty. I have a feeling that her detail selections will never go out of style. I love bridesmaid’s dresses with pockets. You couldn’t ask for more than a set of groomsmen who will sing All 4 One’s “I Swear” during the formal portraits.  Stephen F. Austin hotel on 7th Street is gorgeous for “getting ready” pictures. The Allen House is one of my new favorite wedding venues. Lucky for me, I have two more wedding to photograph there in the next few months! It was great to see the 36th Street Events gals again! Okay, I could go on and on and on!

Now on to fabulous pictures!

I’m always honored when an extended family gets together for large group portraits. During these sessions we capture our large group picture and then photograph individual families and some fun interaction. This family was such a delight and their bond so sweet.

Sometimes we’re trying for a certain picture and real life just happens. These are often the most beautiful portraits. I looooooooove the picture below!

Goodness me – I love this session so much! It started in one of my favorite nature spots in Austin, then the client’s home, and ended in a neighbor’s garden, which will not-so-surprisingly be featured in a garden magazine this fall! Best part of all – mom selected just the perfect outfits for each scenario. Okay, that’s not really the best part. The best part is that this is a family who truly cherishes one another – my favorite thing to capture!

What’s not to love about being three? You get to (try to) catch tadpoles at the lake, hunt for bugs, and have a photographer  tickle you and “snap snap” from one end of Town Lake to the other… I think we should all be three. ;)

Well, little J, I miss the days of your scoot. I cannot lie. I do happen to think you’re pretty great at being three, though, too!
