I left this wedding smiling. I have picture after picture of the two of them together – happy. What joy they brought to everyone attending the wedding! Their wedding took place at the beautiful Mercury Hall in South Austin.

June 22, 2010Lots!
June 21, 2010Monday through Wednesday we worked on moving into our new place and I somehow managed to meet with two clients, make three trips to the post office, and return about 50 e-mails, on Thursday my parents arrived from Phoenix, on Friday I worked on calligraphy and then at night I photographed an intimate wedding at the beautiful Allan House with a couple who is just as in love as can be and then at 5:00 AM Saturday my husband and I started the drive to Midland, where I photographed another gorgeous wedding with an inspiring couple (and a sweet family I was so happy to see again)! I went to bed at about 1:30 Sunday morning, woke up, drove straight from Midland to the movie theater in Austin to watch Toy Story with my family (Father’s Day celebration) and hug and kiss my son a million times, and now I’m submitting a few print orders so that they’ll be happily waiting when the print shops open tomorrow morning. So, as you can see, LOTS of stuff has been going on – and with it there have been so many blessings! In the midst of personal busyness, I’ve gone through hundreds (perhaps thousands) of images of people who love, have cried happy tears at two beautiful weddings, and experienced a renewed energy for what I do. My commitment to spending the proper amount of time with my client’s images is still going strong and I do believe any additional wait time incurred is well worth it!
And what is a post without some pictures? I have LOTS (must go with blog post title) of love for this bride-to-be, who drove in from Temple with her mom (incredibly patient with Austin’s tendency towards three names per one street) for her bridal portraits. What an honor! She’s selected such a fabulous dress – I can’t wait for the big day in August!!!

June 15, 2010There are so many things to say about this wedding. The bride is a timeless beauty. I have a feeling that her detail selections will never go out of style. I love bridesmaid’s dresses with pockets. You couldn’t ask for more than a set of groomsmen who will sing All 4 One’s “I Swear” during the formal portraits. Stephen F. Austin hotel on 7th Street is gorgeous for “getting ready” pictures. The Allen House is one of my new favorite wedding venues. Lucky for me, I have two more wedding to photograph there in the next few months! It was great to see the 36th Street Events gals again! Okay, I could go on and on and on!
Now on to fabulous pictures!
update
June 15, 2010It’s time for some business news! Yay!
~ Lots of inquiries for the fall have come in over the last couple of weeks (hooray for super organized clients who book early!!), but haven’t just yet opened my calendar for September – November. I am placing inquiries on a “first call” list. I’ll e-mail these clients before sending my July reminder to book for the holidays! If you would like to be included in the July newsletter, please send me your e-mail address!
~ I’m moving, traveling for work, and looking forward to a visit from my parents in the coming week. For some reason my auto-responder ends up harassing clients when I turn it on, so here’s my “thanks for your patience while I’m in and out over the next week” note.
~ I’m currently booking in July for portrait sittings!
I hope everyone is enjoying this glorious Texas humidity (that was sarcasm, of course, but look at all the pretty green we have, right?)

June 8, 2010I’m always honored when an extended family gets together for large group portraits. During these sessions we capture our large group picture and then photograph individual families and some fun interaction. This family was such a delight and their bond so sweet.
Sometimes we’re trying for a certain picture and real life just happens. These are often the most beautiful portraits. I looooooooove the picture below!

June 8, 2010Nestled in the middle of spring came this pretty wedding. It was a special day made even more special because the bride’s sister was married last summer and you-know-who photographed the wedding! It was fun to see familiar faces! I love photographing weddings at St. Austin, UT Club, and the beautiful AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center. And this couple made it even more beautiful for sure!
Goodness me – I love this session so much! It started in one of my favorite nature spots in Austin, then the client’s home, and ended in a neighbor’s garden, which will not-so-surprisingly be featured in a garden magazine this fall! Best part of all – mom selected just the perfect outfits for each scenario. Okay, that’s not really the best part. The best part is that this is a family who truly cherishes one another – my favorite thing to capture!
