scheduling update

March 30, 2010

Just a little update about scheduling! The next available weekend portrait session date is June 26th, pending three deposits on sessions between now and then. The next available weekday portrait session date is June 2nd.

There is one wedding opening for July, August, and September (pending) and no remaining openings until 2011 after that.

Please do contact me soon if you would like to schedule a summer session!

All kinds of things are going on over here this week and wedding season is here! In fact, this couple’s wedding is the one that officially kicked things off! Gosh, they’re beautiful! ;)

my little man

March 25, 2010

Photographer’s children are the most difficult to photograph. It’s a fact. I told my son he could have a new train if he took pictures with me today, not realizing it was raining all day. I didn’t mention it again in hopes he’d forget, but little boys don’t forget about new trains!

“Okay, Mom, let’s take pictures now!”

“Well, it’s a rainy day, so we’re going to have to taken them another day.”

He opens the door and walks outside, “It’s not raining! See? It’s all better! Let’s take pictures and get a new train together!!!”

Is my child really excited about taking pictures? Turns out it was still a bit wet for it really, but we managed a few in a small window of opportunity (small window = attention span of a three-year-old). I am determined to take his “real” four-year pictures somewhere near his birthday this year!

And we are now the proud owners of “The Merriest Team” GeoTrax train, a.k.a “my special silver train”.

The boys may be a bit further apart in age, but they clearly share a strong brotherhood bond. That’s something special, if you ask me! I’m so very pleased with the connections we captured from this session. In fact, I’m not giving mom a peek of how fabulously her family photographs turned out here! I’m going for tears with the full gallery. (So mean, I know.) But really, you are a sweet, sweet family. I’m so thrilled to have captured you together!

I just love this moment:

It’s no wonder mom and dad are so proud of their son graduating this year. Look at all of his accomplishments! He’s worked so hard!

During our first consultation, she spoke about quality of work being a big attracting factor, and after my second session with her, I’ve decided that she’s just a dream to photograph! It’s so important that a client trusts their photographer – really, truly can trust them with the outcome of the picture. In this day and age, there are loads of “picture takers” out there. I am so thankful for my clients, who understand the value of an image and entrust me with them!

(she had her veil shipped to her from Australia – what great style she has!)

Fabulous, isn’t she? Oh, am I ever glad that the bridal portrait session has come back in style!

… is back! As soon as his face lit up, I remembered just how adorable his little blue eyes are! And lucky me, I get to photograph him again after he has a little baby brother this year!

This is what I like to call “dreamy light”!

Do dinosaurs say “Moooo”. No, they say:

How fun this family is! I truly can’t wait to meet your new little one!!!

This little lady belongs to my super-talented friend, who hand made most of these clothes! Can you believe it? We hit three spots around town to photograph this session; what fun (and patience!).

Just having a little fun!

Girls are so fun!

They only curl so tightly and sweetly for so long! What a joy to be the one who photographed them!

I can’t tell you how amazing it was to be able to capture the next picture with a five-week-old. She was a little dream to photograph!

Could they be any more stunning?
There is nothing more beautiful than the love of a mother for her child!

I will have the pleasure of photographing this beautiful couple’s wedding in October! I’m so glad they trusted me with what probably seemed like peculiar picture ideas; we have a great set of engagement pictures. I hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

Look at those eyes!

What sweet souls they are!

That’s what a gentleman who walked around a corner downtown and found us shooting this picture said (followed by a few words describing how gorgeous this girl is)! I’m going to have to agree…
