Photographer’s children are the most difficult to photograph. It’s a fact. I told my son he could have a new train if he took pictures with me today, not realizing it was raining all day. I didn’t mention it again in hopes he’d forget, but little boys don’t forget about new trains!
“Okay, Mom, let’s take pictures now!”
“Well, it’s a rainy day, so we’re going to have to taken them another day.”
He opens the door and walks outside, “It’s not raining! See? It’s all better! Let’s take pictures and get a new train together!!!”
Is my child really excited about taking pictures? Turns out it was still a bit wet for it really, but we managed a few in a small window of opportunity (small window = attention span of a three-year-old). I am determined to take his “real” four-year pictures somewhere near his birthday this year!

And we are now the proud owners of “The Merriest Team” GeoTrax train, a.k.a “my special silver train”.
