Sometimes I have a hard time letting go of my clients’ products – I want to keep them like little trophies. Such was the case with this black leather image box filled with 25 mounted portraits!

June 21, 2010Monday through Wednesday we worked on moving into our new place and I somehow managed to meet with two clients, make three trips to the post office, and return about 50 e-mails, on Thursday my parents arrived from Phoenix, on Friday I worked on calligraphy and then at night I photographed an intimate wedding at the beautiful Allan House with a couple who is just as in love as can be and then at 5:00 AM Saturday my husband and I started the drive to Midland, where I photographed another gorgeous wedding with an inspiring couple (and a sweet family I was so happy to see again)! I went to bed at about 1:30 Sunday morning, woke up, drove straight from Midland to the movie theater in Austin to watch Toy Story with my family (Father’s Day celebration) and hug and kiss my son a million times, and now I’m submitting a few print orders so that they’ll be happily waiting when the print shops open tomorrow morning. So, as you can see, LOTS of stuff has been going on – and with it there have been so many blessings! In the midst of personal busyness, I’ve gone through hundreds (perhaps thousands) of images of people who love, have cried happy tears at two beautiful weddings, and experienced a renewed energy for what I do. My commitment to spending the proper amount of time with my client’s images is still going strong and I do believe any additional wait time incurred is well worth it!
And what is a post without some pictures? I have LOTS (must go with blog post title) of love for this bride-to-be, who drove in from Temple with her mom (incredibly patient with Austin’s tendency towards three names per one street) for her bridal portraits. What an honor! She’s selected such a fabulous dress – I can’t wait for the big day in August!!!
Um, yes. She is one beautiful bride!!

April 27, 2010Alas, I’m working on photographing my products! While most clients place their session orders in person so that they can actually see all of the options, out of town clients need the next best thing: pictures! I’ve added a “products” section of my main site with album pictures and will be adding these to my client guides as well. Do take a gander!
scheduling update
March 30, 2010Just a little update about scheduling! The next available weekend portrait session date is June 26th, pending three deposits on sessions between now and then. The next available weekday portrait session date is June 2nd.
There is one wedding opening for July, August, and September (pending) and no remaining openings until 2011 after that.

my little man
March 25, 2010Photographer’s children are the most difficult to photograph. It’s a fact. I told my son he could have a new train if he took pictures with me today, not realizing it was raining all day. I didn’t mention it again in hopes he’d forget, but little boys don’t forget about new trains!
“Okay, Mom, let’s take pictures now!”
“Well, it’s a rainy day, so we’re going to have to taken them another day.”
He opens the door and walks outside, “It’s not raining! See? It’s all better! Let’s take pictures and get a new train together!!!”
Is my child really excited about taking pictures? Turns out it was still a bit wet for it really, but we managed a few in a small window of opportunity (small window = attention span of a three-year-old). I am determined to take his “real” four-year pictures somewhere near his birthday this year!
And we are now the proud owners of “The Merriest Team” GeoTrax train, a.k.a “my special silver train”.
It’s a new blog!
February 11, 2010Yippee! We’re starting afresh with the blog, but rest assured that there were over two years of glorious posts that came before this. We’re excited about what 2010 will bring to this blog, so please stay tuned!
In other news, you may have noticed the updated scheduling information at the top. It’s true – I’ve closed the calendar for events through May as we’re already needing to open March-May for portrait bookings. If you’re seeking a weekend session this spring, please don’t delay in contacting me! Sessions in 2010 will bring many new pleasant surprises – to established clients as well!
